Thirteen years of hosting this tournament has shown us that weather forecast are not always completely accurate, can be fairly dynamic, and many times terrible weather conditions predicted early in the week of our tournament improve dramatically as the week progresses allowing for us to run a high-quality event. Unfortunately, that has not happened this year. The weather forecast for this weekend has not improved resulting in potentially hazardous driving conditions for those teams coming from Austin and Dallas, as well as, potential travel issues for those planning to fly in for the tournament from out of state.
Additionally, given predicted weather, we fear that field conditions could deteriorate throughout the day on Saturday forcing us to cut the tournament short.
As a result of the weather, we will not be holding The Burning Flower Lacrosse Classic this weekend. We hope to re-schedule for Jan. 25-26 pending field and referee availability and will communicate this update as soon as we know. In the event that we are able to re-schedule, we hope that you all will be able to participate/attend...it WILL be a great tournament.
For those looking to donate stuffed animals to support "Remembering Julia", we will send update on alternate plans.
We apologize for the inconvenience but we feel this is the best decision given the circumstances beyond our control.
